A Google employee died Monday after being hit by a company shuttle, police and Google officials said.
The company identified the victim on Wednesday as Emily Hong, who worked in her financial department.
"She brought an incredible spark to Google," said Gina Scigliano, a spokeswoman for Google, in a statement. "She was curious, creative, analytical, positive, generous and kind. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends. "
Mountain View Police responded to reports of an accident at approximately 6:45 pm Monday at the intersection of Charleston Road and Huff Avenue, next to the main Google campus. The first responders performed CPR, but the victim was declared dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene of the accident and cooperates with the investigators, police said. Drugs and alcohol are not considered as factors in the incident. The investigators did not determine if anyone was at fault.
