Former RB Lions Ameer Abdullah is joining the Vikings

ALLEN PARK – Ameer Abdullah runs out of play in Detroit. He's left the building in Allen Park, but he did not leave the division.

The Vikings claimed Abdullah off waivers Wednesday.

The move comes three days after the Vikings beat the Lions 24-9 in Minnesota with Abdullah inactive. The Lions went out with Brandon Powell to kick off the game for the first time after Abdullah had a chance of losing to the Seahawks the previous week.
