Kevin Harvick is suddenly in a precarious situation.
After a victory at Texas Motor Speedway last week, Harvick had an assured spot in the Championship 4 with his eighth win of the season. But Wednesday, his future has become a little darker.
Harvick has amassed 40 points and lost his place in the last four for a spoiler penalty. Now he will have to fight for his playoff life this weekend at ISM Raceway in Phoenix.
The good thing is that it's our choice to win this week. Harvick has nine career wins, 15 top-5 and 20 top-10 in his career on the track. He finished in the top 10 in 64.5% of his races in Phoenix. He may be shaky after a penalty, but he is ready to win another victory.
Kyle Busch will present him however with fierce competition since he has one win, eight top 5 and 18 top 10 in his career at ISM Raceway. He finished in the top 10 69.2% of the time.
With neither player having a playoff spot, everyone could take a few more chances to win.
The Can-Am 500 is visible Sunday at 14:30. AND on NBC.

Which NASCAR drivers are the best for your fantasy lineup at Phoenix?
Jimmie Johnson is the only NASCAR driver located near Harvick among active drivers who have won career victories in Phoenix. He has four with 15 top 5 and 20 top 10 on the track. He also finished five top-15 finishes in his last seven races, with three top-8 finishes.
It seems like a track. Young drivers have been very successful on and Erik Jones is no exception. Jones has a top 5 and three top 10 in four career NASCAR debuts at Phoenix and finished in the top 10 in his seven Xfinity Series tries, which means Jones finished in the top 10 91 percent time in his career at ISM Raceway.
Chase Elliott is almost as successful as Jones in Phoenix. Elliott has two top 5 and four top 10 finishes in his five career races at ISM. He finished in the top 10 of his five races in the Xfinity series. He also needs a win to enter the championship 4, so he can fight with Harvick and Busch for first place.
Daniel Suarez Elliott and Jones have not had the same success, but he has two top 10s in three career races in Phoenix and three more in the Xfinity series. Suarez is out of the race, but if he qualifies well, he could still make his way into the top 10.
