The stolen SUV authorities said they were found Monday morning in the kidnapping of a 13-year-old girl from North Carolina, but that the teen is still missing, officials said.
The 2002 green expedition of Hania Noleia Aguilar, a Ford Expedition, was found Thursday morning just outside her home. She was found Thursday shortly before 8:00 pm (New York time) near Quincey Road in Lumberton, North Carolina, the FBI spokeswoman told NBC News.
Hania, 13, was not found with the vehicle, said Lynch.
On Wednesday, authorities released additional photos and a video of the vehicle that had been filmed by a surveillance camera in Lumberton, North Carolina, just minutes after the Hania abduction.
Hania, an eighth-grade student, was abducted outside her home Monday around 7 am ET while she was waiting for the rest of her family to go outside to go to school, officials said. An Amber alert was issued for Hania later in the day.
A 911 caller told an operator on Monday that the car was already running when Hania was taken away by a man dressed in black and wearing a yellow bandana on his face.
The FBI announced Tuesday that the agency was offering a reward of up to $ 15,000 for information to locate Hania.
She is described as Hispanic, 5 feet tall and weighs about 126 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a blue flowered shirt and blue jeans.
