Veteran Victoria's Angel, Adriana Lima, hangs her wings. After 20 years with the lingerie giant – and 18 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show! – the Brazilian bomb announced its retirement.
The 37-year-old model announced her departure on Instagram as she was preparing for her latest show with a moving film highlighting her best moments on the podium with the brand.

True to Lima fashion, the model (who wore the Fantasy bra three times, has led VS campaigns of many lingerie launches and is considered by the rest of the VS model team as an angel goalkeeper) was a great success. She will close this year's fashion show with a dramatic winged look, a moment she says PEOPLE is the culmination of her 20-year tenure.
"I think this year will be the highlight of my career," Lima, 37, told PEOPLE. "It was my 18th fashion show and I'm still as excited as ever since the first day. I always like to be on the slopes and be part of the Victoria's Secret show. It's my favorite thing to do. "
Lima added that she would focus on new projects focused on women's empowerment.
"I look forward to supporting women and being connected to different projects that support women around the world," she says. "It's like my future now, but I'm always happy to be part of Victoria's Secret this year. You will love this year's show. For me, it's really going to be very special.

Despite hitting 18 podiums, Lima says she still has butterflies.
"I'm nervous and I thought that over the years I would be more relaxed, but no, it will never go away," she says. "Every year, I am anxious and very nervous."
The model adds that this year marks one of the most diverse shows to date.
"We have 60 girls from around the world representing different countries," she says. "We have 8 different musicians, which is the maximum we have ever had. We have seven different segments. I can not wait to see Rita Ora – I am a big fan. She is such a great musician. On top of that, it's a nice sweet and kind person.

Last year, Angel Alessandra Ambrosio, a close friend of Adriana, announced her retirement at the Shanghai VS Fashion Show after nearly two decades with the brand.
