The Carolina Panthers will finish their Thursday Football match against the Pittsburgh Steelers without Eric Reid after ejection of security.
Reid was sent to the locker room after hitting Ben Roethlisberger on the helmet as the Steelers quarterback tried to slip. The replays showed that Reid's shoulder had hit Roethlisberger's helmet as he flew over the quarter. After a brief discussion, the officials decided to disqualify Reid for the rest of the game.
The league quickly explained its decision to eject Reid on Twitter, including the tube video:
The penalty for hitting a slippery quarterback – especially in the head – is not new. But greater significance in 2018 for punishing this type of game is probably the reason why Reid was kicked out in addition to being penalized.
After the shooting, several Steelers offensive linemen came to Roethlisberger's defense, causing a lot of fights between the two teams. However, Reid and Roethlisberger quickly buried the hatchet.
After the Steelers' 52-21 win, Panthers coach Ron Rivera said he did not agree with the referees:
Ron Rivera says that Eric Reid's success did not require an eviction.

Earlier in 2018, Reid had been in trouble with the Eagles because of his adversarial relationship with Malcolm Jenkins, as well as the recent success of Carson Wentz who had begun a fall:
Reid was fined $ 10,026 for the game and will probably be in touch again with the league office after hitting Roethlisberger.
