A flight from Jamaica to Toronto lands at Guyana Airport

According to airline officials, six people were injured after the crash of a Fly Jamaica flight between Guyana and Toronto at Guyana Airport, which shot down at night.

The flight departed from Cheddi Jagan International Airport, near the Guyanese capital, Georgetown, with 120 passengers and eight crew members aboard, around 2 pm ET.

About 20 minutes after the start of the flight, the pilot said the plane was having problems with its hydraulic system, officials said in Guyana at a press conference held Friday morning. The aircraft returned to Cheddi Jagan, where he crashed, to finally leave the runway.

Injured people are in a life-threatening state and are treated at the hospital.

A Guyanese government official is expected to take stock of the incident at 10 am Eastern Time.
