Rain will continue on Friday night, with gusty winds, and thunderstorms are possible.
Flood monitoring is in effect in most of Massachusetts starting at 5 pm Friday to Saturday afternoon. A wind advisory is in effect for Cape Town and the islands from 22h. Friday until 6 o'clock saturday.
"Heavy rainfall is expected tonight and into the night," said the meteorological service. "This rainfall will bring the potential for significant urban flooding and drainage."
Examine the storm sewers on your street and make sure they are free of dead leaves because clogged sewers will only make the floods worse.
Forecasters predict one to two inches of precipitation in most of the state, and up to three inches in some places. The total precipitation in Berkshire County is expected to be slightly lower, but could still result in flooding.
The rest of the weekend will be sunny and dry. Saturday morning will be cloudy, then bright, with peaks in the first 40 years. Temperatures will drop in the 40s, according to forecasters.
Saturday night, the weather will be clear and cold in the Boston area, with minimums plunging into the lowest 30. Sunday will be sunny, with peaks in the 40 degrees and temperatures that should plunge into the 20s.
Monday will be mostly sunny during the day, with peaks in the mid-40s, and the next round of precipitation is expected to arrive Monday night. She could be strong at times. Better yet, it is possible that snow starts in some places.
"This could lead to further flooding in the river," said the meteorological service. "There is also the slight risk that precipitation will begin with a period of snow or ice across the interior, but mainly a rain event is expected."
