"We have all been injured: the 13-year-old missing Lumberton Church prays for her safe return

RED SPRINGS, N.C. (WTVD) –

A community relies on its faith as they look for a missing girl of 13 years.

Dozens of people gathered at the Hania Aguilar Church in Red Springs to pray for her safe return after being kidnapped Monday in front of her home in Lumberton.

"We have a prayer group that belongs to the church," said Juan Crovetto, the organizer of the group that meets every Friday. "What we do here is to reunite and glorify the Lord."

Hania is a vital part of the Friday night band. Church members greeted and kissed Hania's parents on Friday night.

"We have all been hurt by this," said Crovetto, who said Hania's mother, Elsa Hernandez, called her a few minutes after her daughter was missing on Monday.

"Each of us here is a family – brothers and sisters in Christ," said Raul Alvarado. "It concerns me and having news of his comrades on Wednesday, it is not the same without it."

Federal and local authorities urged more people to report Friday on the Hania kidnapping.

"It breaks my heart to stay in front of you five days after the disappearance and abduction of Hania and not to recover her again," said Chief Michael McNeill of the Lumberton Police Department.

The investigators want to talk to the man who is walking in video surveillance near the scene. Emergency management officials also conducted ground searches within 800 meters of the location where the stolen SUV was found on Thursday.
