The largest cruise ship in the world is in Miami.
The Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas arrived Friday at the new terminal of the cruise company in PortMiami.
The ship that debuted this spring and spent the summer sailing in Europe made its North American debut at Port Canaveral on Thursday to pass a full customs inspection.
The ship carrying more than 5,000 passengers arrived Friday morning in the brand new Terminal A, at dawn, unveiling the electric glow of the ship and its new home.
Like the other three Oasis-class ships, Symphony of the Seas offers seven distinct neighborhoods, such as Central Park, the open-air green space in the middle of the ship. It also has many features on Harmony of the Seas, such as the 10-story Ultimate Abyss Dry Slide, the Perfect Storm Water Park, two 40-foot-tall climbing walls, FlowRider surf simulators and a Tyrolean.
Some of the newest features in the lineup, however, debuted on Symphony of the Seas.
These include what the cruise line has touted as "the world's largest laser arena", a brilliant place in the dark on the theme of the destiny of the latest planets in the galaxy.
The ship also includes the Ultimate Family Suite, a two-level suite featuring a waterslide, a floor-to-ceiling Lego wall, an air hockey, and a two-tiered pool. a cinema-style TV room with popcorn machine, as well as a wraparound balcony with its own climbing wall feature, billiard table and bumper whirlpool. It is a two bedroom suite that can accommodate up to eight people.
The Boardwalk includes the Playmakers new sports bar, the video game site, and the Sugar Beach Sweets and Ice Cream Shop.
Other new spaces include El Loco Fresh Mexican Restaurant and Hooked Seafood Restaurant.
The ship also offers many restaurants on its sister ships, including the Wonderland fusion restaurant, Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurant, Japanese cuisine in Izumi, Chops Grill and 150 Central Park, which serves seasonal American cuisine.
The main show on the stage is the return of Broadway's "Hairspray" show, which was once the star show aboard Oasis of the Seas. The original production "Flight" enriches the marquee show. This is a humorous look at the history of flights between the Wright brothers and the first tourist trip to Mars. On the ice is a skating show called "1977" and in the AquaTheater, a show called "HiRo".
Navigation in the Caribbean on Symphony of the Seas begins after a series of media campaigns. The first seven-night cruise will take place on November 17th.
This ship of 228,081 tons, with a length of 1,188 feet, can accommodate up to 6,680 people and 2,200 crew members. With double capacity, the number of guests is 5,518 from 2,759 cabins.
