Striking workers at Marriott hotels have ratified an agreement to end their 37-day labor dispute, union leaders said Saturday.
Sarah McDermott, Local 19 spokeswoman, said Marriott employees in other cities were still on strike. No details on the agreement reached with Unite Here, Local 19 of San Jose was available.
Oakland workers have ratified their contract earlier this month, but workers at San Francisco hotels remain on strike.
"We are very pleased with the contract," McDermott said Saturday. "It's great contact and the workers feel really good about it."
Hotel workers in the Bay Area went on strike on October 4 demanding higher wages, more job security and reduced workload. McDermott said Local 19 reached an agreement in principle with Marriott on Thursday and the workers voted in favor of its ratification Friday afternoon.

Unite Here represents 270,000 workers in the United States and Canada in the hospitality, gaming, restaurant, manufacturing, textile, distribution, linen, transportation and airports. In the Bay Area, about 12,000 members of Unite Here work as servants, dishwashers, waiters and bartenders, cooks and hunters in various hotels, including Marriott.
"We congratulate our brothers and sisters in San Jose for this life-changing contract that creates enough work for hospitality workers," said Anand Singh, president of Unite Here Local 2 in San Francisco, in a statement. . "We have always known that Marriott has the means to settle this strike and we are ready to fight as long as necessary."
Marriott confirmed Saturday that the contract with San Jose workers had been ratified.
"We are looking forward to welcoming our associates to work," said a spokesman for the company in a statement.
