A lawyer who volunteered for Nelson's campaign said the Democrats were not sure whether the Senate count would be completed by the deadline. The lawyer added that the fact that the county could finish all three stages was extremely doubtful.
Part of the reason the Democrats do not have as much clarity as they would like is because Bucher did not provide them with sufficiently clear figures, which makes it difficult to predict the next few days, the lawyer said.
Despite their concerns about setting the deadline, the Democrats here today said they were not worried about the integrity of the process. Representatives of both parties congratulated the volunteers and noted the calm and friendly atmosphere inside the huge warehouse where work is being done.
