Prime Minister Modi declared that Ananth Kumar was "a remarkable leader" who served society "with compassion"
Union Minister Ananth Kumar, 59, died Monday at 2 am in the capital of Karnataka, Bengaluru. He was suffering from cancer. He has been representing Karnataka at Lok Sabha in the Bengaluru South constituency since 1996. He has been in charge of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers since May 2014 and Parliamentary Affairs since June 2016 in the Modi government. Several political leaders, including President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have expressed their condolences to social media.
Expressing his sadness at the death of Ananth Kumar, Prime Minister Modi said in a tweet that Ananth Kumar was "a remarkable leader" who "continued to serve society with the greatest diligence and compassion ".

In another tweet, he said that Ananth Kumar "was a major asset to the BJP's organistaion".
Ananth Kumar Ji was a competent administrator, managing many ministerial portfolios and a valuable asset to the BJP organization. He worked hard to strengthen the party in Karnataka, especially in Bengaluru and its surroundings. He was always accessible to his constituents.

President Ram Nath Kovind also expressed sadness over the death of Ananth Kumar, saying that the death of the "veteran" parliamentarian was "a tragic loss for public life in our country and especially for the people of Karnataka" .

Union Minister Rajnath Singh told Twitter that he was "absolutely shocked and saddened" by the death of Ananth Kumar. "His passion and dedication to the well-being of people was commendable," he tweeted.

Ananth Kumar was born on July 22, 1959 in Bengaluru and graduated from Karnataka University with a law degree and diploma, according to the ANI news agency. He is survived by his wife Tejaswini and daughters Aiswarya and Vijeta.
