Richard Ojeda just lost his bid for West Virginia's 3rd congressional district, but on Sunday night he tabled documents to run for president.
The new filing with the Federal Election Commission took place the same day that Ojeda told supporters to prepare for an announcement on Monday.

"I hope you will join me tomorrow afternoon for an important announcement," he said in an email sent Sunday to his supporters. "Because, as I said, we have not finished fighting."
On Tuesday, Republican Carol Miller defeated Ojeda 56% to 44% in the 3rd district of southern West Virginia.
Ojeda, a fiery democrat who voted for Donald Trump before admitting that he regretted it, predicted in his concession speech Tuesday: "Do not be fooled! You will know my name! "
In an email sent Sunday to his supporters, the senator and former army paratrooper said that he had learned from his race in Congress that he wanted to advance his campaign.
Ojeda lost 12 points on Tuesday, but has emboldened by 31 points to the blue since Trump won the district by a 49-point margin in 2016.
"It was then that I realized that families in Logan, West Virginia, were going through the same difficulties as those in the Bronx, San Francisco and Houston," he said. written. "It was not a problem in West Virginia. It's an American problem and it has to change.
