Dallas Cowboys: Why Cowboys need Dak Prescott to become their No. 1 QB, new coach or not

Would not it be stupid to grant a strong contract extension to Prescott? He does not seem to be improving and this is his third year in the league. In addition, Garrett's mandate seems to be over at the end of the seasons. The new coach may not see what he wants in Prescott. Which means we get another coach yes.

JJT: In fact, you do not have to give him a contract extension until the end of next season. Unless there is a major change, I would probably send Garrett and Linehan back after the season and engage a new innovative offensive spirit and give him a year to remake Dak. Then I could see how Dak flourished or not under the new scheme and based on my decision. You want Dak to succeed. This trip to find a quarterback can be a solitary place and there is no guarantee that you will take player # 1 in the general or fourth round. Check out the various NFL franchises and see how long a team has not had a franchise quarter and it's shocking.

Zeke Elliott had a huge game after struggling in the last two weeks. Does he become himself again and can we wait for that until the end?

JJT: You do not run the ball in the void. Everyone needs to work together to run the ball, and that's what happened last night when Elliott had 19 runs for 151 yards. He had races of 32, 15, 35, 13 and 18 yards. The line pushed people away and he took advantage of it. The fact that the scores are close helped to avoid the Cowboys. They could stay with that and try to impose their will on the Eagles.

Jaylon Smith "throws the X" after his fourth stop on the ground. Does this prove once and for all that Dez was not a cloakroom cancer?

JJT: Name the people who said Dez was a locker room cancer because I do not remember any of them. I think people were saying that he did not know how to manage the routes well and he had trouble catching 50-50 balls and other things that made him an average receiver. It's Dez who said that he would recommend not to play hurt. The majority of Dez's teammates have always loved him. That said, he was in New Orleans for two days. The saints have never seen petulant Dez. Or in a bad mood Dez. Or crazy Dez. Like all of us, it's complicated.
