Now let's look at two field reactions to Jimmy Butler's trade of two players heavily affected by the procedure.
First, we turn to Minnesota where Karl-Anthony Towns, tormented by the media and at least one random Butler workout, played his first match since the transaction on Monday. The cities finished with 25 points on 9-11 shooting with 21 rebounds and, uh, 10 turnovers. He also had a weird little quote on leadership. All in all, pretty good.
Second, we turn to Philadelphia, where Markelle Fultz has probably played his last game in the short term. We expect Butler to supplant him in fifth place this week. Fultz is also the first candidate to be tormented by Butler because of his story. (Jimmy Butler, what a guy!) Fultz pulled 2-8 off the ground and had another absolutely weird moment with a terrible hitter on a free kick, later saying that the ball has slipped. His (former) coach took advantage of the opportunity to flee to reporters, he no longer works with Fultz and they do not speak. Overall, not bad.
Have we considered all of these side effects when evaluating Butler's trade? Should we have?

Poor, poor Caris LeVert. He had a legitimate season for the Nets and he suffered a very serious leg injury Monday night. Hoping for a quick and clear recovery.
A really cool project of Nylon Calculus, in which you adjust your priorities (individual peak, longevity, rings, score, etc.) and create an algorithmic Top 50 for the best of all times. My top five is Kareem, LeBron, MJ, Wilt and Duncan, which is pretty close to how I would have otherwise listed my top five (MJ, LeBron, Kareem, Duncan, Oscar).
What a victory for the Clippers on the Warriors. Show Harrell is real.
LOL LeBron almost lost him with his crazy Lakers teammates.
According to the numbers, Carmelo Anthony has been extraordinarily bad this season. I ask three questions whose answers will determine his future in basketball or if he has one. Woj reports that Melo's camp is watching another team.
Alex Wong has a new podcast and in the first episode, he talks to the very funny Alex Chieng about everything about the NBA.
In a very good article about DeMar DeRozan who is waiting for San Antonio impatiently, Jonathan Abrams reports that the All-Star discovered that he had been traded by the Raptors against a Jack in the Box, where he then stayed for two hours to process the information.
Kyrie Irving being mysterious and conspirator when discussing the difficulties of her team? He learned at the feet of the best.
Be excellent to each other.
