FONTANA, Calif. – A brush fire was spreading rapidly in the northern foothills of Fontana Tuesday night, KTLA reported.
Firefighters in San Bernardino County reported being on the spot near the intersection of Sierra and Riverside Avenues, just above the Sierra Heights area, shortly after 10 pm. It is unclear when exactly the flames broke out.
Within minutes, the fire had reached 20 acres, the agency said.
He was nicknamed the Sierra Fire.
The Rialto firefighters and crew members of Cal Fire San Bernardino also responded to the call.
The video of the scene showed embers carried by the wind to spread flames on dry scrub.
Officials did not indicate whether they intended to announce evacuations related to the fire.
No other details were immediately available.
