Chick-yarn-A to start home delivery, offers free sandwiches

Chick-fil-A launches a national delivery service, with the aim of boosting the business of customers who are too busy to leave their home or office for a meal.

The company is partnering with DoorDash to deliver home delivery to more than 1,100 of its restaurants across the country. Participating restaurants will offer the entire menu to guests within 10 minutes.

The service comes as Americans increasingly snub restaurants for delivery services or eat their meals to eat at home or in the office. According to the NDP Research Society, about half of the dinners bought at the restaurant are consumed at home, partly because of the cost and time they have. Restaurant meals, especially those with table service and tips, are more expensive than eating at home, the company said.

"The many busy lives and family commitments of our customers have taken them by surprise – delivery is a way to help them get a quick but high-quality meal," said Jon Bridges, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. from Chick-Fil-A. officer, in a statement. "If they can not come to us, we will come to them."

Chick-fil-A has been testing DoorDash delivery since 2017 in some markets.
