A North Carolina teacher who died in Mexico on October 28 was found dead and the authorities "are looking for those responsible to bring them to justice," the family said on Facebook on Thursday afternoon.
A spokesman for the family confirmed the death of Patrick Braxton-Andrew, a graduate of Davidson College, in a message to The Charlotte Observer.
"On the basis of information provided by the authorities of the State of Chihuahua, it is with great sadness that we announce the death of Patrick, October 28, in the hands of criminal organization operating in the area where he was, "said the family in their Facebook message. .
"The search continues to find his body so we can bring him home," according to the family's message.
"The family wishes to thank the Governor and the Attorney General of Chihuahua for their unwavering commitment to locating Patrick," said his family in their Facebook message. "Patrick died doing what he liked: traveling and meeting people. Join us to celebrate his life as he would like us to do.
