A conservative journalist tried to shame Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a newly-elected congressman, but Twitter's users were disheveled.

On Thursday, Eddie Scarry, a Washington Examiner journalist, posted a photo of the back of the Democratic parliamentarian, accompanied by a comment.

Scarry's tweet seemed to be a comment on Ocasio-Cortez's recent admission that she had difficulty raising enough money to rent an apartment before formally starting her new job in January.

Twitter users took advantage of Scarry's bizarre attack on Ocasio-Cortez and mocked him mercilessly.

Ocasio-Cortez could not help taking part in takedown, pointing out that his opponents seemed obsessed with his back.

Other Twitter users are piling up with memes of ridiculous winter coats.

Scarry eventually backtracked, claiming that her tweet, now deleted, complimented Ocasio-Cortez for its "elegant" and "well-organized" appearance.

HuffPost contacted the Washington reviewer to comment on Scarry's tweet, but no one immediately responded.

Of course, Ocasio-Cortez called his misogyny and made sure to let him know that the Internet is a reality.
