A Colorado woman who was dating Christopher Watts – the man accused of killing his wife and pregnant daughters in August – would have called him a "liar" during an interview Thursday where she allegedly explained how the two men met and started the extramarital affair.
Nichol Kessinger, 30, had been dating Watts for less than two months and said she "barely knew her" when her family members disappeared during the summer, she said. at the Denver Post.
Earlier this month, Watts, 33, pleaded guilty to nine counts, including three counts of first degree murder, in the death of his wife, Shanann, 34, and their two daughters. Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3 prosecutors, said the prosecution. Police said Watts had taken their bodies to an oil site owned by his former employer. The girls' bodies were found immersed in an oil tank and the body of Shanann Watts was found in a shallow grave.

Kessinger allegedly worked with a subcontractor for Anadarko Petroleum – where Watts worked – when the couple met and finally started speaking in mid-June.

Their relationship progressed and apparently became physical in early July. Kessinger said the couple spent time together several times during the week. At the end of the month, he informed her that her divorce was finalized, the point of sale said.
On the day of the disappearance of Watts' family in mid-August, Kessinger told The Post that he had told her by text message that they had "left", but he seemed calm.

When Kessinger eventually spoke to Watts, he would have changed the explanation he had given about his divorce and tried to divert their conversation to a new topic.
"He got to a point where he told me so many lies that I finally told him that I did not want to talk to him until his family was found," she told The Post. .
She finally contacted the Weld County Sheriff's Office and leaked the details of their relationship, reported the outlet.
"I just wanted to help," she said. "With a pregnant woman and two missing children, I was going to do everything I could."
Watts, charged in August with the death of his wife and pregnant daughters, will face three consecutive life sentences for murder charges; the rest will be "left to the discretion of the court" when Watts will be formally sentenced on November 19, said district attorney Weld.
