The reputation of Brad Marchand, the Boston Bruins star, who pushed his limits precedes him, and his opponents learn to take advantage of it.

Earlier this month, the Nashville Predators' center, Colton Sissons, sold that it was top stuck by Marchand, even though the stick has never been in contact.

On Friday night, Dallas Stars goalie Ben Bishop won the Oscar for being injured by a small pat on Marchand's second-half leg.

He leaned over and grabbed his leg, resulting in a sharp penalty and sarcasm from Bruins announcer, Jack Edwards.

"It's a blow, ladies and gentleman," Edwards said. "Oh, Ben, you'll probably never walk again."

The official call on NHL.com was hitting defender Roman Polak, who skated by Marchand, but there seemed to be only a minimum of contacts there.

To Marchand's credit, he did not react in the same manner as Sissons when he went to the referee, fell and grabbed his head to show that the Predator player was embellished. This act cost him an additional fine for unfair conduct and misconduct of 10 minutes.

But Marchand had a misconduct on Friday night. Visibly frustrated, he took a towel with his stick into the penalty area and waved it like a white flag.

He was later called again for brutal during a third period scrum.

Marchand led the league with 48 penalty minutes and started to escape with 18 more minutes on Friday.
