According to a new report, Stormy Daniels' lawyer, Michael Avenatti, lost a last minute call Friday to prevent the expulsion of his law firm from his California offices.
Avenatti – who was beaten earlier this week in LA following charges of domestic violence – must now leave his office overlooking the ocean in an office building in Newport Beach after the Superior Court judge of the Orange County, Robert J. Moss, has confirmed an October ordinance his staff is leaving, reported the Los Angeles Times.
Eagan Avenatti, the Avenatti firm, had already avoided four months' rent, for a total of $ 213,254, prompting the owner, Irvine Co., to sue and be deported.
The landlord won the lawsuit last month, during a trial that Avenatti jumped, according to the report. Then, the local sheriff's office posted a notice asking the company to leave its offices no earlier than November 1.
He asked for a stay, which granted him a deadline until the Friday hearing. But he did not show himself either, the paper said.
Moss asked Mark Kompa, the owner's lawyer, if he had any news of Avenatti – and he replied that the two had spoken on Tuesday.
"There have been other events that have happened and I have not heard about it since," Kompa said, according to the report.
The next day, Avenatti was detained on a criminal domestic violence charge. He was released later in the evening after posting a $ 50,000 bail. He vehemently denied the accusations.
When asked in an e-mail to order the eviction, Avenatti told the LA Times: "This does not matter because Eagan Avenatti, my former company , was already moving. A non-event. "
At the end of last month, Avenatti asked the court to put an end to the deportation. Indeed, Avenatti & Associates, another entity that he owns, had "an oral lease with the owner," according to the same report.
The landlord, however, has denied this.
The lawyer told the newspaper that the two companies are separate companies, but operate as the same law firm in the same office, with the same staff.
