A dolphin was found shot on a beach in California – and a rescue group now offers a reward for information that allowed the arrest and conviction of the gunman.
The remains of the dolphin were found on the beach of Manhattan about 20 km south of Los Angeles, wrote Friday on Facebook Marine Animal Rescue, based in El Segundo.
Necropsy later revealed that the marine mammal had been killed by a gunshot wound, the animal rescue group said.
"There is NO excuse for such brutality against these beautiful animals," the group wrote in its message.
The animal rescue service added that it would offer a reward of $ 5,000 if an informant disclosed information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the person who had shot the dolphin.
