In case you missed it, Scottish dart player Gary Anderson beat Wesley Harms of the Netherlands 10-2 to win a quarter-final place in the Gland Slam of Darts. But the match was not free of controversy. In a post-match interview, Harms said he was not able to play to the best of his ability because there was a terrible smell on stage that probably came from the back of his opponent. He said that Anderson had left a "scented smell" behind him and that he was going to "take [him] two nights to lose that smell of my nose. "
These might have seemed like hard comments from a frustrated loser, but it's not like Anderson did a great job defending the honor of his ass. Rather than playing the card "who smelled it, was distributing it", the Scotsman went to great lengths to deny any accusation.
You can see the frustration in Anderson's eyes as the interviewer continues to press him about the possibility that his gas is gone. He thought swearing about his children's lives and depreciating himself for pissing off when he poked him out of that scorching wind, but like any good journalist, the interviewer kept pushing. Anderson's cracks clearly began to appear near the end of the clip when he explained in detail the origin of the smell and its smell – details that probably should have been given in the first two questions about the dart . Even his face after the last question seems to fit in another ripper.
It is evident that men accused of such things are presumed innocent until proved otherwise, but the actions of the Scottish dart player do not seem to correspond to those of an innocent man.
