Washington (CNN)The Democratic candidate for the Florida governor, Andrew Gillum, has conceded to his Republican opponent, former representative Ron DeSantis.
"R.J. and I wanted to take a moment to congratulate Mr. DeSantis on being the next governor of the great state of Florida," Gillum said in a video on Facebook in which he appears alongside his wife. "It was the journey of our lives."
