Veteran among two people killed during the plane crash of the reenactment of the Second World War

Two people died Saturday in a plane crash while they were attending an event hosted by the National Museum of Pacific War in Fredericksburg, Texas.

Two people died Saturday during a reenactment show commemorating the Second World War after the aircraft in which they were crashed into the parking lot of a complex. Apartments in Texas, officials said.

The North American Aviation P-51 Mustang, in wartime, crashes around 3:15 pm. in Fredericksburg during the World War II program against the Pacific, organized by the National Museum of the Pacific War.

Museum officials consulted on Twitter to confirm that the two passengers on the plane, including a veteran, had been killed.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Lynn Lunsford said the plane had been destroyed and several cars had also been damaged.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the accident that occurred just 70 miles north of San Antonio.

The Mustang was first built by North American Aviation in 1940 and was used by the US Army during the Second World War and the Korean War.

The cause of the accident was not yet clear and the identity of the victims had not been unveiled.
