Former Vice President Joe Biden has just added to his family a new member on all fours: a German Shepherd named Major.

"We are very pleased to welcome the Major into the Biden family and we thank the Delaware Humane Association for its work of finding forever homes for Major and countless other animals," said the Vice President. President Bidens in a statement. his wife, Jill Biden, and Champ, their other German Shepherd.

The Delaware Humane Association has announced the news of adoption on Facebook, writing in a message that Major "comes from the range of German Shepherd puppies that have been surrendered and are not doing well at all".

Once Biden "got wind", he "immediately made contact," the group said on Facebook, adding that "the rest belongs to history!"

The Bidens had promoted Major, the group said on Facebook, thanking the family and wishing them good luck with their new pet.

"Today is Major's lucky day! Not only did Major find his home forever, but he was adopted by Vice President Joe Biden + Dr. Jill Biden!" the post office said.

Biden is considered a potential candidate for the Democratic presidency in 2020. As vice president, he would give children stuffed versions of his other dog, Champ. Field also travels occasionally with Biden to his office in Washington, DC.
