Scientists may have finally discovered a super-Earth similar to an exoplanet six light years from us after trying to prove its existence for decades.

Ignasi Ribas and his team at the Spanish Science Institute of Espai are now 99% certain that the planet exists, according to National Geographic. They watch Barnard's star and confirmed a periodic commotion. The jiggle means that the gravity of a nearby planet acts on the star, and it seems to occur every 233 days. Other scientists are not convinced and think that the commotion could be caused by star points or active regions.

The speculations on the surface and climate of the planet are not promising. It is predicted that the temperature on the theoretical exoplanet will be about -270 degrees, so unable to support life as we know it.
