The German Shepherd named Major had a difficult start, went to a house where life was in danger.
But now, he returns home with his former Vice President, Joe Biden, 75, and his wife, Jill. The Delaware Humane Association announced the news this weekend Facebook, with photos of the two moments together.
Major is from a litter of six other German Shepherd puppies, who were given "life-saving medical care" after being exposed to "something poisonous at home," the press release said. Delaware Humane Association.
"Once we posted about them for your help, Joe Biden heard them and contacted them immediately," the message said on Facebook. "The rest is history!"
Major high with the Bidens before being adopted. The new member of the family will join his other German Shepherd, Champ. Biden said in a statement to CNN:
"We are very pleased to welcome Major in the Biden family and thank the Delaware Humane Association for his work of finding forever homes for Major and countless other animals."
