Rapper Kanye West donated $ 150,000 to the family of a black security guard, who was shot dead by a white policeman in Illinois last week.
GoFundMe confirmed Sunday at Fox News that West had made 10 donations of $ 15,000 each in the honor of Jemel Roberson.
Roberson, 26, worked as a security guard on November 11 when a white police officer shot him at Manny's Blue Room in Robbins, about 20 kilometers south of Chicago.
Roberson was outside the bar, holding someone who had been involved in an earlier shootout. Police officers from several agencies who had reacted to the shooting arrived and one of them shot Roberson.

Police in the state of Illinois said witnesses would have informed investigators that a Midlothian officer had ordered Roberson to drop his gun before firing.
Witnesses allegedly shouted that Roberson was a security guard before being shot, and a lawyer for Roberson's mother said that he was holding a suspect by wearing a hat wearing the word "safety" when he was being shot. ;he was shot.
The fundraiser was created the day Roberson died to "cover his burial expenses."
