The governor of a state in northern Mexico where a man from North Carolina was killed last month, said the alleged perpetrator would pay dearly for the crime.

Governor of Chihuahua State, Javier Corral, said Sunday that Patrick Braxton-Andrew was reportedly killed by a drug dealer named Jose Noriel Portillo Gil, aka "The Crooked", while he was walking around in the Copy Canyons. Corral said the federal police were looking for Portillo Gil, who is part of the Sinaloa cartel.

Corral said that the body of the 34 – year – old Spanish professor had been buried, then exhumed and left in the open by his assailants. More than a hundred police and volunteers scoured the area looking for clues after Braxton-Andrew's disappearance on October 28th.
