SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio – The Shaker Heights School District will close all buildings on Monday and Tuesday and offer bereavement counseling after the murder of sixth grade teacher Aisha Fraser Mason.
Fraser Mason, who taught at Woodbury Elementary, was fatally stabbed Saturday at his home in Shaker Heights. Her husband, former judge Lance Mason of Cuyahoga County, was arrested in connection with his death, police said.
Monday and Tuesday were supposed to be professional learning days for Shaker Heights teachers, but the school district canceled them to give teachers time to present their grief.
Shaker Heights Schools provide psychological support to all District students and their families on Mondays and Tuesdays starting at 1:00 pm. at 4:30 pm at Woodbury Elementary School and Mercer Elementary School.
Advice is available Monday morning and Tuesday morning for all district staff.
Entertainment days at the Shaker Recreation Department in Woodbury will be held normally, said the school district.
