The episode of "The Walking Dead" this week will resume at the end of the episode last week. Rosita (Christian Serratos) wandered alone and injured in the woods after narrowly escaping Eugene (Josh McDermitt) in his first meeting with the Whisperers. She has trouble making her way before she faints.
Carol (Melissa McBride) and Henry (Matt Lintz) went to Daryl's (Norman Reedus). Daryl leads a lonely life in the desert, his only company being a dog that he affectionately describes as … Dog. Carol asks Daryl to accompany them to Hilltop to watch over her son, but Daryl just lets the boy sort things out himself.
On the road, Michonne (Danai Gurira) leads the new group – Magna (Nadia Hilker), Luke (Dan Fogler), Connie (Lauren Ridloff), Kelly (Angel Theory) and Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) – at the top of the podium. a hill. some others from Alexandria, Saddiq (Avi Nash) and DJ (Matt Mangum). Along the way, Yumiko informs Michonne and Saddiq of Bernie, another member of their group they lost, and the way he was hiding under Magna's spell. Yumiko then asks Michonne if there is Hilltop. Michonne reveals to her that she has not been there for some time.

In our first vision of Hilltop since the time jump, the community is in full swing. The fields for growing food have been expanded and many other features are on display in the walls. Tara (Alanna Masterson) oversees the daily details, but Jesus (Tom Payne) is now the duly elected leader, a role in which he is not at all comfortable. Jesus reveals that he took over after Maggie left and went to stay with Georgie.
Before Michonne and the others reach Hilltop, they return to the old camp of the new group so they can recover their belongings. They find, however, that the flock that chased them has almost destroyed everything. Michonne decides to gather all remaining weapons from the group before telling them that she will not accompany them until Hilltop.
Elsewhere, Jesus rides alone on his horse when he is ambushed by Aaron (Ross Marquand). It turns out that the two men met in secret to train in the martial arts, despite the icy relationship currently prevailing between Hilltop and Alexandria. After the fight, they talk about several things, including the importance of the fair mentioned in the last episodes. In the distance, they see a flare. When they investigate, they find a barely conscious Rosita, who tells them that Eugene was hurt and that she hid it in a nearby barn. She is too weak to remember exactly where, and the walkers are approaching, so they take it and go away.
At Daryl camp, Daryl prepares his guests with a roast snake dinner, while Carol takes the opportunity to cut her hair. At that time, Daryl said that he was in the desert looking for someone, presumably Rick, having never found a body again. Later in the night, Henry follows Daryl in the woods. Daryl catches him, but then sees Dog stuck in one of Daryl's traps with several nearby hikers. Daryl will rescue his canine companion and tell Henry to stay put. Daryl dispatched several marchers but died almost before Henry intervened at the last minute. It turns out that Carol had been watching all the time from a distance.
Later in the night, Daryl and Henry are sitting by the campfire. Daryl thanks Henry for his help and explains that most of his traps are meant to stop walkers from entering and that there have been more than usual lately. Henry admonishes Daryl for being so hard to find when his mother boasts so much.
Michonne and the others sheltered for the night. While the others sleep, Michonne gets up and draws her sword. She meets Luke fiddling with something. Fearing it might be a weapon, Michonne attacks Luke. It turned out that he was holding a rare Stradivarius violin, which Michonne has now cut in half. Luke explains where he received the instrument and thinks that music will help humanity survive.
At the top of a hill, Jesus reveals that he saw Aaron. They argue inevitably about the role of Jesus in the community. Tara tells him that he must commit to the good of all. She tells him that she's going to get Eugene so that he can stay and keep the community together.
The next morning, Saddiq tells Michonne that Maggie left Hilltop and that Jesus is responsible. Before she can handle that, the marchers attack. Michonne reluctantly authorizes the new group to have his weapons. Magna takes her knife, while Yumiko has a bow and arrows. Kelly and Connie each use a wrist flare. They fight the marchers, but they recognize that one of these walkers is their friend Bernie. Magna breaks down, so Michonne puts Bernie out of his misery.
They continue on their way to Hilltop, Siddiq claiming that Maggie has gone with Georgie to help establish a new community. They meet two Hilltop runners, who go to Alexandria to talk to them about Rosita. Michonne decides to continue to Hilltop, ahead of the rest of the group.
Daryl decides to ride with Carol and Henry to Hilltop. Their reception is short-lived, Aaron asks Daryl for help in finding Eugene. Daryl accepts and Jesus tells Tara that he must also leave. She agrees, saying that she will take care of things during her absence. Daryl, Aaron and Jesus leave together.
