Are there more time travelers on Outlander? Claire makes a fascinating discovery in the woods of North Carolina

Spoilers coming for Outlander Season 4, episode 3 While the previous episode of Outlander centered on the actual horrors of slavery, "The False Bride" reminds viewers of the fantastic elements of Claire's story. Claire finds a skull with silver fillings and it seems that there are more time travelers Outlander. Claire learned that she was not alone in her mystical abilities during Season 1 when she met Geillis Duncan. Both Gellis and Claire have traveled the past through the portal of the ancient Craigh na Dun rock circle. Geillis brought Claire to make another discovery of time travel in Season 3 and "The False Bride" again stresses that there is still much to learn about time travel around the world Outlander.

The third episode of Outlander Season 4 is obvious, as Brianna and Roger get together in the 20th century and Claire and Jamie try to find a new home in the 18th century. After what happened to Rufus, Claire and Jamie decide to leave Aunt Jocasta's River Run plantation because they are not comfortable with the possession of slaves. While traveling, Claire goes alone to find their mule that flees to thunder. But the storm also scares the horse on which she climbed and she ejected it. She remained lost in the woods, hurt and disoriented, until she found a scalped skull. Then, the spirit of an Amerindian appears to him and it makes the link between the skull and this ghost.

Claire and Jamie meet again the next morning, thanks to the appearance using her boots to lead them to a creek. Her medical training begins while she examines the skull and she sees that he has some money fillings. As Claire and the FDA website confirm, this type of filling was not invented until the 19th century. So, the Amerindian ghost she saw was probably also a time traveler – and probably did not come to colonial America via Scotland like Claire.

Although Claire gets few answers in "The False Bride" since she's busy finding her new home at Fraser's Ridge with Jamie, it seems like there's another time portal in North Carolina – or at least somewhere in the colonies. And Outlander has already opened other portals since the final of season 3, when Geillis tried to return in the future through the Abandawe cave in Jamaica. Claire and Jamie have stopped her since Geillis intended to sacrifice the young Ian and kill Brianna, but the cave was a place to travel back in time.

The first scene of Outlander Season 4 showed ancient Aboriginal peoples creating a circle of stones like Craigh na Dun in what appears to be America. The Amerindians then performed a ritual there, Claire giving a voice-over narration of the importance of the circles. The location is therefore clearly significant this season. Perhaps, while Claire and Jamie will move to North Carolina, they will discover this sacred place. And maybe that will bring them even closer to their daughter, since Brianna should also be traveling in the past. Of course, the Season 4 trailer seemed to show Brianna at Craigh na Dun, but there may be a link between all these travel portals in time.

Even though this new discovery does not lead to Brianna and Claire, the ghost of this fellow traveler has already helped Claire and could be useful to her again. So expect more people to be able to travel in time Outlander Season 4 continues.
