At least 40 people killed in an explosion in Kabul, the Afghan capital

KABUL (Reuters) – At least 40 people were killed in the blast of a wedding hall in Kabul, Afghan capital, two government officials said.

More than 60 other people were injured in the blast, said Basir Mujahid, spokesman for the Kabul police.

"I have confirmed reports that 40 people were killed," Mujahid told Reuters. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
