MOSCOW – Interpol confirmed that a former head of the Russian Interior Ministry and a South Korean police commissioner had been appointed to the presidency, following allegations that Moscow had used the # 39; international police agency to attack his political enemies.
The appointments of Kim Jong-yang (South Korea) and General Alexander Prokopchuk (Russia) were criticized as more and more critics came to the fore over the possibility that a Russian official would occupy such a critical position at Interpol.
