Photo in playoffs in the NFL: Rams could do something in their 12th week without any team having done so for 80 years

After defeating the Chiefs 54-51 in a wild game up to their expectations, the Rams will certainly go in their fare this week, and there is a good chance that their day off will turn into a gigantic party.

Although the Rams are not on the field in Week 12, maybe we could end up seeing them celebrate anyway because they have a chance to win the division on Sunday. The Rams could officially win the NFC West title this week and for that they only need one match, according to Joe Ferreira, NFL tie guru.

The game in question? Seattle to Carolina.

More on the NFL

If the The Seahawks lose, the Rams will become the first team to win a division title in 2018.

The game between the Seahawks and the Panthers will start at 10 am local time, which means the Rams could have the division won before the players finish their lunch on Sunday.

If the Seahawks lose, it would be a historic situation for the Rams. On the one hand, it would give them consecutive division titles for the first time since the seasons of 1978 and 1979. These two titles were actually part of an absurdly impressive run of the 1970s, during which time the Rams won seven consecutive titles from NFC West (1973-1979). During the series, the Rams competed in five NFC and Super Bowl games.

If the Rams eventually win the NFC West title this week, they will also mark the story in another way. Ivan Urena, a professional football researcher, said the Rams would join the 1938 Packers as the only team in NFL history to win a playoff spot for a week off.

If that happens, the Rams hope better than their season does not end in the same way that Green Bay did in 1938 and that's because the Packers ended up losing in the NFL championship game.

Of course, the Rams are not the only team to play in the playoffs. For a complete overview of the playoff picture in the NFL, be sure to: Click here for the detailed description of Will Brinson for what the playoff race it looks like we are entering the 12th week.
