One person was killed and five others injured when several cars caught fire following an accident on Wednesday morning at the Brooklyn Bridge, authorities said.
Three vehicles caught fire following the accident at about 7.15 pm on the bridge side to Brooklyn, a spokesman for the FDNY said. One person was declared dead at the scene and five others were slightly injured.
The identity of the deceased victim was not immediately revealed.
The authorities closed both sides of the bridge while they were dealing with and investigating the burning accident.
Firefighters are still on the scene.
