Spoil alert! This story deals with the complete bow of Ivan Drago's character in "Creed II". Stop reading now if you have not seen the movie yet and do not want to know.

Three decades after its downfall against Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) in "Rocky IV", the dishonest Russian killing machine Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) is back for revenge "Creed II."

It is a meal that is best suited after many cold Ukrainian winters.

While his brutal son Viktor (Florian Munteanu) was fighting, Draco, in the heart of the ice, challenged Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), the son of boxing legend Apollo Creed, literally killed by Draco in the summer. ring "Rocky IV".

Lundgren, 61, says that "Creed II" (currently in theaters) pays tribute to his classic villain, before that changes the course of Draco's story.

"Rocky IV" was like: "We are in a nuclear stalemate with Russia, we need this nasty without layers," said Lundgren. "I was happy to play a character with a little more emotion and more complete than the first."

Draco was definitely going to "break" something.

Director Steven Caple Jr. knew that he had to work in Draco's "I must break you" statement in the new movie.

"It's a classic line, but we could not tell Draco:" I have to break you down. "Again," said Caple. "We had to find a way that really sings."

After trying many variations, Draco told Rocky, "My son is going to break your boy." Drago also shoves Viktor's mouthguard into the jaw to push him during Adonis's battle, saying, "You must break it."

The Rocky-Drago revenge took place and was interrupted.

After Viktor hit Adonis in the film's first charity fight, Caple filmed a clash at the hospital between Rocky and Draco. Informal revenge makes sense on paper: "You hear the fans say," Oh, man, they have to fight. ""

But it did not work. "It pushed the boundaries of" Rocky IV, "said Caple. "We made this decision of the executive to reduce it.Nobody wanted to force it."

Draco throws the sponge on his cold heart.

In "Rocky IV", Rocky refrains from throwing sponge to end the tragic fight between Draco and Apollo. Apollo told Rocky not to stop the fight, no matter what happens. And he is dead.

Rocky, still haunted, plans to throw himself in the towel during the "Creed II" Viktor-Adonis clash while his protege is clubbed. But Adonis, like his father, prohibits the move before reversing the situation.

When Viktor is then crushed by Adonis, it is the old Draco killing machine that surrenders, throwing the bloody sponge to end the fight.

"Draco is the last guy in the world that you expect to throw in the sponge, so it's powerful," Lundgren said. "But my son's life is at stake."

The ending harmonises perfectly with "Rocky IV" and gives a new vision of a Drago with the heart. He even says emotionally to his losing son that he is proud for the first time. It's a very different view of his naughty past and his own lone defeat against Rocky.

"After seeing it, Dolph came to see me after crying, he was so happy," Caple said.

Draco was always going to show his emotions in "Creed II".

Caple says that Draco, who spoke only nine lines in "Rocky IV", was always going to display emotions in "Creed II". But he cut earlier glimpses of heart.

"I realized during editing that you had begun to tidy up with Draco. Then, Creed's victory does not give the impression of being a victory, it's less heroic" he says. Caple saved the humanization for the final act.

"It's the end when we create this multidimensional character," he says. "You're starting to feel for Draco."
