Spider-Man Tom Holland eats pumpkin for the first time

He can play an American superhero, but Spider Man The star Tom Holland has never tasted one of our most festive party dishes – pumpkin – until now.

Holland, 22, joined chefs Jessica Largey and Joe Russo at the Russo Simone restaurant in Los Angeles for what The Associated Press called an "exclusive cooking class" on Wednesday.

There, he was initiated to the delight of grilled Kabocha squash, a kind of Japanese pumpkin, which Largey had accessorized with kale, mushrooms and passion fruit. (Holland had previously had pumpkin seeds but never the fruit itself.)

"It really looks like Thanksgiving for me," said Largey.

"It's hard to start with probably the best pumpkin I know," Holland said with amusement. "Every pumpkin after that will be a disappointment."

"It was delicious," he told Largey. "So, I'll come back tomorrow."

It's not that he's stuck to the pumpkin: "It's so good, the fruit of passion too," he would have said, advancing for another bite. "And the kale is crisp, so there's a nice texture."

Holland usually returns home to the UK for Thanksgiving, according to the AP.

Wherever he spends the holidays, Largey would have left with some tips for fun, including how to concoct a cheese macaroni, one of his favorites.

Before going to the Russo restaurant in Los Angeles, Holland attended Jimmy Kimmel's night performance last October to show off his new superhero costume.
