The Thanksgiving Day tweet by First Lady Melania Trump sparked many critical reactions.
"I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving!" wrote. "As we thank, let's keep those who can not be with their families in our thoughts today."
Some research ask clearly which people they should think, "you mean the troops that your husband sent to the border for a political coup … [whispers] who failed …? " and, "Like the 5000 members of the army at the border."

Another Twitter user commented"You can thank @POTUS for keeping the troops away from your family and friends during this Thanksgiving."
Earlier in the week, President Trump weighed on border troops who spend their holidays away from home.
He told reporters, "Do not worry, they are tough people …. You are so worried about Thanksgiving holidays for them, they are so proud to represent our country at the border."
