Two people died after a multi-car collision at Harmony Road and Boardwalk Drive just after 10:00 am on Thanksgiving Day.

Fort Collins police officer Brandon Barnes said the police were checking a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of Arctic Fox Drive and Caribou Drive around 9:45 am when the vehicle s & # 39; 39 is gone.

The police did not prosecute the suspect, Barnes said. Shortly after, the vehicle was involved in a collision involving several cars at Harmony and Boardwalk, which resulted in several casualties. The driver of the suspect vehicle was arrested, Barnes said.

The vehicle was allegedly stolen from a feeder park on Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

Dallas Schleining of Ault was sitting at Thanksgiving dinner with his family when he received a call from the Fort Collins police about a missing pickup truck.

Schleining, who runs a livestock feedlot in East Ault, said he owned several trucks and did not know if the truck was still on the ground.

"I had my dear sister, and the truck involved in the accident is mine," Schleining said in Colorado. A cattle trailer attached to the van was also missing but was not involved in the accident. The trailer "was attached last night when they took it but I do not know where it is now," he said.

Schleining said the police told him that the person driving the truck was in custody. The truck crashed in the southeast corner of 7-Eleven at the corner of Boardwalk and Harmony Road and was immobilized facing the west and slightly to the north. At least three other vehicles appeared to be involved in the accident, although the police did not confirm the number.

At approximately 4 pm Thursday, Harmony Road remained closed between Lemay Avenue and John F. Kennedy Drive while Collision Reconstruction and Scene Manipulation Officers were on scene.

Police said no other information would be disclosed for the moment.
