Khashoggi's assassination: Trump declares that the Saudi Crown Prince has not been blamed

US President Donald Trump said the CIA did not blame Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for ordering the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Khashoggi was murdered on October 2 at the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul.

US officials told the US media that such an operation would need the approval of the prince.

"They have not concluded," Trump said of the CIA's assessment by Mar-a-Lago journalists in Florida.

"They have not come to a conclusion They have particular feelings I have the report, they have not concluded, I do not know if anyone will be able to conclude that the Crown Prince did it. "

On November 17, Sarah Sanders, White House press secretary, told reporters that Trump trusted the CIA following talks with director Gina Haspel and the secretary of the CIA. State, Mike Pompeo, about the murder of Khashoggi.

Sources quoted in the American media at the time pointed out that there was no evidence directly linking the Crown Prince to the murder, but officials felt that the murder would have required its approval.

Saudi Arabia called the statement false and insisted that the crown prince was unaware of any plans for assassination.

Khashoggi was killed as a result of a "dishonest operation".

However, the Hurriyet newspaper reported Thursday that Ms Haspel had told Turkish officials that the CIA had last month recorded a recording in which the Crown Prince had instructed to "silence" the Saudi writer as soon as possible .

Asked what journalists say, President Trump said, "I do not want to talk about it, you will have to ask them."

The Saudi Crown Prince visited Thursday in "Arab brother countries," the Saudi media reported.

It will be his first official trip abroad since the death of Khashoggi.

President Trump has repeatedly stressed the importance of Saudi Arabia for the United States after the killing.
