Disney has offered the first look at Simba's newborn from his live-action remake of The Lion King. The trailer of the heavyweight CG movie is an almost complete remake of the beginning of the animated classic of 1994. Savannah animals gather at Pride Rock to witness the introduction of the new prince.
James Earl Jones takes over the role of Mufasa in the teaser, delivering an almost exact monologue to his son Simba, as his character did in the original film. "All that light touches is our kingdom. But the time of a king as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day, the sun will set over my time here and will rise like the new king, "says Mustafa Jones voiceover.
The trailer also announces the return of the now-classic 1994 Lebo M. film intro, a Zulu-language song serving as a prologue to Elton John and Tim Rice's "Circle of Life".
As previously announced, Donald Glover, in the film remake directed by Jon Favreau, interprets the role of adult Simba and Beyoncé should hear his compatriot Nala. Chiwetel Ejofor, Scar, Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen, Timon & Pumbaa, Alfre Woodard, Sarabi and John Oliver, Zazu.
The Lion King remake – the latest animated Disney classic revived as a live action blockbuster after The jungle Book, Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the beast – arrives on July 19, 2019, two months after Disney Aladdin live-action remake hits the theaters.
