Detroit – A suspect was killed in a shootout involving an officer Friday on the off-ramp of I-94, heading to the I-75, Michigan police said.
The incident occurred at 4:25 pm When the Michigan state police was informed that a representative of the Wayne County Sheriff's Office was involved in the I-94 shooting westward to the I-94 -75, officials said.
State police said the MP was in a private ambulance, carrying a 23-year-old prisoner.
Pageant Atterberry, of the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, said that the Deputy Sheriff and the Head of Prisons were on hand and were reviewing the investigation.
The policeman was injured and the suspect died, said Atterberry.
"There is no danger to the community," tweeted MSP Friday. "There are no other suspects."
MSP said it expects traffic delays for the next few hours. The I-94 ramp heading west to I-75 is closed.
