One day after several members of the Washington University fanfare were injured in a bus rollover, the Washington State group interpreted his rival's fight song into a moving tribute pre-match.
The Cougar fanfare played "Bow Down to Washington" instead of the Washington group, which decided not to attend the Apple Cup Friday after the bus crash the night before.

According to a tweet from a presenter at Seattle's KOMO television channel, the Washington State group had been seen practicing the UW fight song Friday morning. The group also tweeted their support for the UW group that morning by writing: "Wishing them a safe journey back home and wherever the bowling season takes them!"
The section of Martin Stadium where the Washington group sat down was connected and left empty.
The Washington University fanfare will not attend Friday's Apple Cup against Washington after a bus carrying band members on an icy freeway Thursday evening.
