Plumbers rushed Friday to Southwest Florida to repair Thanksgiving accidents.
There was no time to go black Friday shopping at Next Plumbing because the day after Thanksgiving was the busiest day of the year.
Next Plumbing should do more work on Friday after Thanksgiving than during a normal work week.
Tabitha Cole is one of hundreds of calls made.
"After all the Thanksgiving shenanigans, eating and everything we cleaned up and I do not really know what happened, neither paper towels, nor disposable wipes in the toilet, it was a huge hoof that everything started to recede, "she said.
According to master plumber Billy Hamilton, these calls are extremely common right after the holidays.
"You get that high volume of toilets with food in sewers, toilet paper, wipes, things that should not be thrown into the sewer," he said.
Hamilton told Cole that even though the wipes indicate that they are disposable in the toilet, they still pose a risk that could clog your drains.
And Cole is grateful for Next Plumbing because she had previously called another company that said the job would cost thousands of dollars.
"They did not even look at the problem," he said right away, "it seems we're going to have to pound the ground with a jackhammer," Cole said. .
Instead, Next Plumbing did the job in a matter of hours for a few hundred dollars.
