In an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Sheikh Mohammed said: "We are still standing with Saudi Arabia against the tide. Our bilateral relations are strengthened by the Saudi-UAE Coordination Council. The council has defined a common vision for a complementary strategy between the two countries, at the economic, development and military levels, through 44 joint strategic projects. We look forward to building a complementary model that supports the GCC and joint Arab work. "
Sheikh Mohammed added that he also saw "optimism and hope in the massive operation of development and modernization in the Kingdom".
He said: "Vision 2030 asks our brothers to work tirelessly to implement their projects and programs. They are able to realize it and they know that the goals of the plan are not a choice. They are needed to face current and future challenges. "
The Vice President of the United Arab Emirates said that he shared the conviction of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that the Middle East could be "the new Europe".
He stressed that he was also optimistic about the future.
"I always look at the glass half full. I can not wait to fill the empty part. Even though the "Arab Fall" was expensive, his lessons were valuable. I believe that the majority of leaders in the Arab world have learned from these lessons that the winds of reform, change and modernization are blowing over the majority of our Arab world. Regarding the possible repercussions of the sanctions imposed by the United States on Iran again, Sheikh Mohammed said: "The tensions in our region are not new. It's practically a constant that has existed for 40 years. Despite this, the cycle of construction and development has not stopped and investments no longer. "
He added: "We take care to protect our country and our people from the dangers of crises. We are also ready to face their impact if needed. "
The Dubai leader added that the "real spring" was the winds of change, reform and modernization that swept the majority of the Arab world.
