The quest for a second consecutive season without defeat for central Florida will have to continue without McKenzie Milton.
The Knights' junior quarterback was seriously injured in the right leg during a run in the second quarter of a 38-10 win against South Florida on Saturday. He was fired from the field as his teammates and opponents knelt to pray. UCF coach Josh Heupel said after the match that Milton had been hospitalized, but did not provide any other details than to say the injury was "traumatic".

Milton, a third-year rider, has collected 2577 yards and 24 touchdowns, with only five interceptions this season for the Knights, 11-0 and ranked ninth overall. The UCF, which has won 24 consecutive games, will face Memphis for the American Athletics Conference championship next Saturday.
Rookie Darriel Mack replaced Milton in training and completed only 5 of 14 passes for 81 yards. The Knights racked up 391 yards, including 181 yards and three goals from Greg McRae.
The Alabama quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, who grew up in Hawaii as Milton, and Auburn linebacker, Deshaun Davis, were among those who tweeted their best wishes on Friday:
